I have been handed a .sql file and told to run it against a specific Database, as im not a DBA i need to know how i run this,

From googling i have worked out if i go into studio manager and click on my database then click New Query i get the blanc page where i need to trye the query

If my file is on the root of C and is called Clear_SQL.sql , the database is QAonline could someone please let me know how i run this.

Thanks

Connect to server using ssms, then click file -> open -> file:
file open fileNext choose apropriate database:
choose dbAt last click on Execute button

Depending on what is in the script you may need additional permissions. Please also keep in mind that code in script may change your data in database(s).
