retrieve deleted pst file

Hi i have recieved a computer of a customer who has reinstalled xp and office but didnt back up his pst file before he did it, i have managed to do a data recovery and retrieved a 500mb pst file although i dont really think this is all of it if im honest as he had years worth of emails on there. the file wont load into outlook as it says not an outlook file so i did the scanpst utility in the office directory, it now does load but only shows 2 empty folders a deleted items folder and a search folder, is there any way of improving this

I would look for more pst files and see if you can find the ost file. You might be able to restore some data from the ost file.

Unless the emails are in the deleted folder there's probably not much you can do. If you have already connected to the mail server then you have likewise pulled whatever was left on it.

There are probably data retrieval companies that might recover more but it would be pricey.

because the data had been overwritten its almost impposible to retrieve it this program did retrieve some of it but no where near all
