Backup VM with VMWare Dara Recovery and BackupExec

Hello,

I have actually VMware Vsphere 4.0 with the VDR appliance to backup my VMs.
I also have a BackupExec 10 Server.
I have a vmdk partition to store the backup or a network share.

How can I backup all my VM with VDR.

1. With a vmdk partition, can't be backuped with BE or how ?
2. With a network share and backup this network share in BackupExec. But on the network share I don't have flat vmdk file (just file as 001, 002, 003, ...), how can I restore a VM.

What are your idea about this issue ?

What do you want to do, use vDR to Backup your VMs and then use Backup Exec to backup the vDR Repository to Tape.

If this is true, you'll need to use a Network Share Location.

Let vDR Backup and Restore the VMs, and if you want to copy the data to Tape using Backup Exec, use Backup Exec to copy the Network Share Location to tape.
have you tried acronis?
backup exec 10 doesn't support vmware agent.  Only 12.5 and up support vmware via agent to backup as an image

ASKER

Yes, vdr and after backupexec to tape or disk.
But if i want to restore from tape an older vm, how can i find the vm (not vmdk flat file) to restore, not explicit name (001, 002, ...)
