configuring linux mail servers for alerts

ryan80 asked
Last Modified: 2012-06-21
I have several linux servers that are running in a windows network. they run some batch jobs and I want them to be able to send alerts when the jobs are done.

I already have an exchange server that is used for email. How should I go about configuring the servers so that mailx can be used to send emails only to internal users.

I have already setup postfix on one of the servers and have it running, but does this need to be installed on all of the linux servers?
