I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

I typically use a public folder to hold common contact information. This way you can grant a few users owner rights so they can add and update the contacts. Also this allows for a backup for sickness or vacation days. The rest of the office gets reviewer rights. You can have this public folder show up as a address book. To do so select the public folder and right click. On the Outlook Address Book tab, click Show this folders as an e-mail address book. Now that it's an address book. It can be reference when a message is being sent and will resolve an unique typings just like the GAL does.
