VB.Net WindowsForm upload image to SQL 2008 Database

I have a simple table in a sql database:
     ID
     Image_name (varchar(50))
     Image_Data (image)

I have a winform in Visual studio using a dataset to connect to the database.

on the form I want only two fields, name and image.  I need the user to be able to choose the image from the file system and place it in the image box on the form and then save the image name and image to the sql database.

Thank you for your help.

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Use the OpenFileDialog so the user can choose the image from the file system.
dim of as new OpenFileDialog
of.ShowDialog

as to storing in the DB, I always preferred to store the link and keep the image in the file system.

This should help you:
