How to display ads in sharepoint site?

I've used "sharepoint designer" to insert web code into custom sharepoint pages.for instance, I built a custom page with a weather app on the front page.

Sharepoint Designer lets you do a split screen CODE view, this is handy. it alllows you to see the webpage as well as the code where you're working.

I always make sure I have a full backup of my SharePoint sites before doing any custom work.

I tried the content editor webpart first and it seemed to work fine. But then, i found it hard to control a few things in the ad with the webpart. So i went for a custom user control and user a page viewer webpart instead.
