Win 7 Anti-Spyware 2011 Problem
Hi all,
As the title suggests, some spyware called Win 7 Anti-Spyware 2011 installed on my cmputer and I've spent many hours today trying to get totally rid of it. I entered a registration code I found on the net and this stopped it from blocking the interent but I can't seem to get rid of it in the tool bar so I'm pretty so the Registry Cleaners I've been using to try to get rid of it haven't worked properly. I used a program called SmitFraudfix.exe. I'd like to make sure I get rid of it all so if someone could step me through what to do that would be great!
I'm using Windows 7.
Thanks,
D

Thanks for the suggestion, I've done the first step now. Is the program Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware free to use? I'd prepare not to buy anymore programs :)

I have been running Avira AntiVir on my computer but it did not detect this Win 7 Malware virus. Is there a better free software program I could install so that this doesn't happen again?
IMHO, you should definitely change...look at my Article here:

This one is a 'freebie', but in the future use the "Ask a related Question" function (link right below my comment) when you want to post a follow up Q.

Thanks younghv will do!
Glad to help.
Please give strong consideration to buying the lifetime (your lifetime) license for MBAM.
As you replace your existing computer with a new one, the license transfers to the new one, and the next new one, and the one after that.
Very inexpensive protection.
MSE is my current selection on AV, but a year ago it was AVG and AVAST. These things change with the times, so feel free to read though some of the "What's the best AV" questions that seem to abound around here - or post one of your own when you're thinking about changing.
