How do I remove ‘Folder Sync’ icon from Windows Explorer

After the installation of Office Explorer is modified to include a ‘Folder Sync’ item. This can be manually removed by customising the tool bar but we would like to be able to do this with a GPO if possible.

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Hi Zoppo

Thanks for your response. Groove has been rebranded/replaced with Sharepoint Workspace which is part of the office Suite that we are likely to be using in the future so having it installed makes sense. For the users having an Icon in Windows Explorer that does not do anything is confusing for users. The article you referred to will be helpful for locating the registry keys and the process for the removal.

I’ll leave this open for a few more days to see if there are any other suggestions.
