Grab number of sent emails per hour from Exchange 2007 based on date

I have been looking for a way to extract how many emails have been sent by a particular user per hour over the course of a week using powershell.   I have tried doing this through the get-mailboxfolderstatistics cmdlet with no advance. Please help. We are using Exchange 2007 SP1.

I haven't tried messagestats yet but I am specifically trying to find any method that would allow us to pull the information we need from the information store versus the transaction logs. I have tried AppAnalyser from Sirana Software but it looks through the transaction logs. This solution also has to be pulled only from the server and not from the outlook client.
I have searched and it seems as though this can only be done via Exchange Web Services which I understand nothing about. Are there any good resources out there about Exchange Web Services? Should I be looking else were?

I also need to note that after I had the raw data I used PowerPivot tables to put in a per hour per month format.
Found the answer buy searching around.
