no delete folder in outlook
I have an imap account set up in outlook, when i delete an email there is no Deleted Messages folder anywhere. i have my email on hostgator and contacted them and they said i needed to create a folder in their webmail, which i did, and the folder shows up in outlook now. how do i tell outlook where to send my deleted messages and where are they going now?
i can help you out, which version of outlook do you have?

According to a Rackspace support article, Outlook 2007 doesn't support designating a Deleted Items folder when using IMAP:

However, you may be able to find a third-party extension to add this behavior. Something like:

Important Notes: When using IMAP in Outlook 2007, deleted items are purged from the server rather than moved to the Trash folder. If you plan to use IMAP Protocol, we strongly recommend using Outlook 2010. This will allow you to assign the specific IMAP folder that is used for deleted items.

wow, that has got to be the most ridiculous thing i have ever heard. so outlook just permanently deletes your email? that does not sound right. i'll have to try MS support i guess.

although it did not provide a solution with the existing software i have, it can be solved with additional investment in new software.
