Not able to print On HP LASERJET1320 using windows 7

Hi experts,

I have attached a HP LASERJET1320 to windows 7 Dell system.
As i dont have the drivers for a windows 7 system, i downloaded the drivers from Hp Site.
I am not able to print anyting on windows 7, but i am able to print it on a XP system.
One more Question I have the XP Driver CD for HP LASERJET1320, will the XP drivers work on the windows 7 machine.

Thanks & Regards

Hi,

What interface do you have on the printer?

Is it model 1320 with USB or model 1320n with Ethernet support?

For both models you can download the  “HP universal print driver” and if you have the network model you just have to point to the correct IP address during the setup.

You only have to choose between 32bit or 64bit.

And below you will see 3 - HP Universal Print Driver for Windows PCL5.

If you download and install this you should be able to print :-)

... or you should be able to use the built-in Windows 7 "HP LaserJet 1320 PCL 5" driver via the 'Add printer' dialogue.

Some printers will not appear in the list untill the 'Windows Update' button is clicked on the 'Install a printer driver' page of the dialogue - and you;'ll have to wait a few minutes whilst the updated list is retrieved and the page refreshed, before you can see the updated list.

Hey Thanks Buddies,

Now everything is fine one problem that i am still facing is that i am not able to print on both sides of

the paper. The option is set to off, how can i enable it.

The problem would be resolved when i would be able to print on both sides of the paper.

Thanks & Regards

You probably have to configure the driver so that it knows a duplex unit is present (assuming it is, or course).

Select the printer in question, then (via 'right-click' context menu) select 'Printer properties'.

In the resultant 'Printer properties' dialogue, select the 'Device settings' tab.

Change the 'Duplex Unit' option from 'Not installled' to 'Installed'.

You'll have to do the above whilst logged-in as a user with administrative credentials.
