OKI MC361 Administrator Password

Hi everyone,

I have bought a new oki MC361 and changed the Administrator password, but I am unable to login with these settings. I wanted to reset to my factory settings, but I need a hard reset, because I need a password if I want to change it through the software.

Does anyone know a way to clear the RAM of this printer? I contacted support but they said they would send a technicians to update the firmware or read the ram of the printer.. I hope someone has an answer!

Kind Regards,

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

I don't know of a way to reset everything to factory settings, and couldn't find it on Okidata's website.

Just in case it helps, the default admin password is "aaaaaa".  It is possible it didn't take your change and still has that password.

Hope that helps.

Same here, I also tried it, but wouldn't accept it..

I have contacted customer service and they said they needed to send a tech over to read the RAM for the password or just to give it a a firmware upgrade..

I can power the machine off and pull the plug out, but I don't think this would solve the case..

I have e-mailed again to support and this solved my problem:

When the equipment is in standby mode, access the password entry screen by
pressing [Setting] ¿ [#] ¿ [0] ¿ [1] ¿ [0] ¿ [3] ¿ [*], type in the
password 000000, then go to System Maintenance, then scroll down to Reset
Admin Password, press OK.

Default username and password is below.

Username - admin
Password - aaaaaa

Hope this helps if someone else may have this problem
