Renewing Root Certificate to Wireless Clients

We must renew our Enterprise Root Certificate in the next 60 days.  Our current user and computer GPOs have automatic certificate management enabled: Enroll new certs, renew expired, process pending and remove revoked certs enabled: Update and manage certs from AD templates enabled: and Automatic certificate request is set to computer.  We have a large number of wireless clients and my concern is that they will have to hard wire into the network to renew their certificates.  My question is:  When I renew the root certificate will my wireless clients have to be hard wired into the network to renew their certificates or will they be able to wirelessly connect and then renew?

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

If you control access to your WLAN via RADIUS and the remote access policy is using Computer Authentication via EAP you will have to wire the clients to the network.

If your clients have a certificate but connect to the WLAN using a Pre-Shared key you will be fine.
