Flash with External Data not playing in Joomla

Our website was built in Joomla 1.5 we are trying to add a map built in Flash to our location page article and the map pulls data from an XML file such as city locations. we can insert the swf file into the article but it shows as blank in the preview and will not load in the live site (Progress bar never completes). Is there a way to get this to work with Joomla? Just using a HTML file brings up the map fine on the local computer but even if I copy and past that code in for the article it will not work.

you can do it easily with a module that handles flash as the flash module

Here is a list to choose from

Just be careful with the linking in your flash to your xml etc, you may have messed the linking up and it can't locate the correct files from where you have placed the flash

Remember that joomla references everything from the root directory. So, when you have an extrernal XML file that is referenced, it needs to be references from the root directory.

I would put the flash movie in the images/stories directory and then place the external data file there there.

Can you send a link to look at for reference?

What is considered the root directory in Joomla?
eschipmanAuthor Commented:
Ive tried several flash modules for joomla including the one mentioned above and it hasn't worked and there is no where in the module to state where the external XML data file is located.

Found the root directory. Put everything in there and it is loading into the Article fine without any modules.
