Outlook 2010 cannot move or delete mail

I have one user that is experiencing this issue. When he uses a macro to move mail or if he holds SHIFT and presses DELETE to permanetely delete email, he gets the Cannot be moved error.

I disabled offline mode
Cache is off
I repaired Office 2010 and this took care of the problem, but it came back today after he left his workstation on overnight.
No PST to repair

No idea where to go now.

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

So other 2010 users can use this same macro and it works for them?

If you repaired outlook and the problem came back, I would tend to think that they may be using a romaing profile in which the settings were not copied over.

If user is using a roaming profile you could try to rename the roaming profile to USERNAMEBAK
Then repair the problem, log off the machine (saving the new settings to a new profile)
Log back on and should be okay

hi indsupport,
:few things to share with you
- does his deleted mail folder might have reached maximum number of items? clear it out if it is
- check the .pst/mailbox size limit, have his mailbox reach the maximum?
- you've repaired Office but have you try to repair the .pst? maybe the mailbox corrupted (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/272227 OR http://www.scanpstexe.org)
- try disable/stop his anti-virus & macro. close & re-open outlook and try the delete+shift operation again. there are some cases some anti-virus did not finish its operation of deleting/scanning certain infected mail that causes that particular email message to be corrupted
- last step i would suggest is to create a new .pst/mailbox then move the problem message to the new mailbox and try to delete it OR move all the OK mail/message to the new mailbox and remove the old mailbox. start use the new one.

- in all please do a mailbox backup first before try any of the above :)

The Exchange 2007 DB was causing the problem. Basically you need to run a defrag/repair on the DB and this will take care of the email

None of the answer above were correct, it actually had everything to do with the Exchange 2007 DB which had become unstable
