Installing AutoCAD 2007 on windows 7

Hi

Can anyone advise how to install and run autocad 2007 on windows 7?

I know it is supported in vista but it is not supported in Win7?

Looking for anyone who has come across this.

thanks

the install process is exactly the same, just make sure to run the setup.exe as administrator by right clicking the file and selecting "Run as administrator"

also make sure to install any and all updates for autocad and windows 7

Thanks silverhorn.

What would happen if you installed autocad 2007 setup.exe without "Run as administrator"?, but ran acad.exe (in compatibility mode) and ticked "run as administrator" for this?

Are these methods any different?

Also, there is a patch (SP2) from autdesk but it says it is only supported in vista?
I have been reading blogs of people where it simply doesn't work?
none of the updates provided by Autodesk will list as compatible with windows 7.

you should also be okay without selecting the compatibility setting or the run as administrator setting but it can be done for a peace of mind thing. I would try installing the program and see if it works. I do not see why it wouldn't as I have seen earlier versions working on windows 7 even though they are not "supported"
i know the windows 7 has .NET 4 installed.

does autocad need .NET 2.0. if so is this covered in the .NET 4 framework?
