Router dropping SKYPE calls......strange firewall readings.
Not sure is my issue is a BANDWIDTH issue or a FIREWALL issue....sorry for the LONG firewall log attached.
My "friend" has a small business inside Mexico. She has up to 10 people using SKYPE to connect over her router. The has done this before (she claims), however, now she is getting dropped calls. It seems only when less people are connecting is she getting less dropped calls. The only change is she moved to a different floor and now using different computers. Her network includes 1 router and 2 switches. The two computers with most dropped calls where connected directly to the router....no change in behaviour.
My understanding is that SKYPE VOICE ONLY calls take 30 - 90kbps bandwidth.
This suggests that the average bandwidth thru the router should fluctuate between 300 -900kbps. None of the 10 people use internet, currently. The computer were not re-installed, rather cleaned from unwanted installed programs and with ESET NOD32 antivirus.
Below are some stats from the ROUTER and a log of its FIREWALL. I should say I ran some online router tests throughout the day:

use port forwarding on skype I HAVE to do this on my connection. Also some ISPs are throttling it to promote thier own phone services.
Also note the QOS suggestion above.
Also note the QOS suggestion above.
I she changed computers I wonder if there was qos and or port forwarding setup to the old PC. Check for those

Ofirpro - Thank you. I will look into configuring QOS and see if it helps. It is the phone companys DSL modem-router. I know that currently nothing is set up. However, with all 10 employees ONLY making outbound calls, with no access to internet except for email, I wonder if QOS will really make a different since SKYPE isnt competing with other internet traffic.
I will let you know how it works.
remixedcat - Thank you. My understanding is that SKYPE uses random ports for outbound calls and port forwarding is only an option for handling incoming calls. Since the 10 employees only make outbound calls, port forwarding doesnt seem to be an option for us.
aarontomosky - Thanks you. She says her DSL router was always used in its default mode and hasnt changed any settings after the move. The move took place 2months ago but the disconnections began occuring 1 week ago. The only change was moving from 7 computers back up to 10 computers.
Latency was over 500millisecond a few tmes.....i know that SKYPE will drop if over 500milliseconds. I just dont understand why now the big latency is happening.
Also, last night with only 3 computers connected, the SKYPE connection dropped for everyone at the same time. The router rebooted. This was different from the afternoon when everyone seperately recieved dropped calls after 30secs or 1 min of use........perhaps the issue is more confined to the DSL service company or its router.
Ill try the QOS setup and keep you guys posted...........
Thanks again for the feedback.

Thanks guys. There were two solutions to this problem. The phone cable feeding the DSL router was moved into the cieling and proved to be faulty. Replacing the cable fixed part of the problem.
The other part of the problem proved to be SKYPE. It turns out SKYPE calls were failing worldwide that day. The only SKYPE announcement I found was online at www.twitter.com/SKYPE......"The brief service disruption on Skype caused by an ISP failure has been resolved. We thank you for your patience."

if the router keeps acting up you might want to think about changing to a new one, I used to have a router that got reset when it got over loaded, then I bought a new router and now i have no disconnects. also switches could go bad too and negatively effect your network, sometimes routers and switches need a reset from now and then in order to be fully operational.
QoS (Quality-of-Service)
QoS is a general term that incorporates bandwidth, latency, and jitter to describe a network's ability to customize the treatment of specific classes of data. For example, QoS can be used to prioritize video transmissions over Web-browsing traffic. Advanced networks can offer greater control over how data traffic is classified into classes and greater flexibility as to how the treatment of that traffic is differentiated from other traffic.
