Simple count query

I know this is a simple request but I have not used access much in the past few years and I was never too great in it when I did. I need a very simple query but I have virtually no time to get it done.

I need to provide a report to a manager. I'll need to prompt for a date range then return a report that lists an item and how many times it appeared in a table during that date range. Just one number count per item.

For example a table that has a log of calls coming in and the report should show a count of how many times a particular technology appeared in that list for the date range entered. So the report would list each item and how many times it showed up. LIke...

where [datefield] between [Enter Start Date] and [Enter End Date]
