shared folders server 2007

i have some shared folders on the server and users have these folders mapped as a network drive.

a user has deleted a folder from within the mapped drive which i would like to try and get back.  it does not appear in the users recycle bin and i was wondering if it is possible to find and recover the deleted folder.

thank you

I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

You would have to attempt to recover on the target server.  You might try some file recovery software if you do not have backups.  However, the client machine (the user's) will not have the deleted data on it.  Your recovery efforts should be concentrated on the server.
Please also note the information provided on Question #23045555 on Expert's Exchange - it provide links and suggestions from others on using Shadow Copy for protecting network file shares.
