Compare 2 columns of text to find values that match then populate 2 other columns with the results

Hello Everyone,

I have an excel spreadsheet that I need to compare two columns of text to find values that match then populate another two columns with the results.

I am comparing column that (A) has 94,000 rows of data to column J that has about 30,000 rows.  For values that match I have to populate another column (B) with a "yes" if there is a match.  Column K then has date values that correspond to column J.  So if I get a match in column B, then I have to populate column C with the corresponding date values from column K.

I apologize if this is confusing.

Any help you can provide is much appreciated.
Thanks!

Hi Jppinto,

That is close to what I need.  However, in your example I need the date value to match the corresponding column in J.  So, in your example I would need cell C1 to be populated with the date 7/23/2011.

Hope I didn't confuse the matter more.

Thanks for the quick response!
That worked!  Thanks so much! and I appreciate the quick response.
Here you go! I've used a VLOOKUP() function to get the proper date.
