Mac Desktop keeps freezing/crashing. What could be wrong?

I've got a Mac Pro Dual-Core Xeon 2.66 Ghz with 2 processors and 4 cores, 7GB of memory, bus 1.33 GHz

Snow Leopard, latest updates

Recently the machine is freezing and/or shutting down randomly.   Below is the report after a shutdown and the second is the code from the console after a freeze.

Any help would be great.

Thanks

Random crashes can be bad memory. Try isolating by cutting the memory in half and see how well it runs then try the other half.

A safe boot is a cheap trick that probably won't do much, but try it

Repair permissions

Zap the PRAM (that won't do anything for this.)

Use a 3rd party disk utility like Disk Warrior.

You may have a bad hard drive. Make sure your data is backed up while you are trying these fixes.

Your machine may have come with a hardware test utility. Random crashes can be heat/logicboard related.

I never have much luck reading error reports, but these two lines:

Kernel Extensions in backtrace (with dependencies):
         com.apple.driver.AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement(105.13.0)@0xccf000->0xcecfff

BSD process name corresponding to current thread: PrinterProxy

suggest to me that there might be a power management or printer problem.

You might try resetting the SMU:  http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3964?viewlocale=en_US  To do so:

   1. Shut down the computer.
   2. Unplug the computer's power cord.
   3. Press and hold the power button for 5 seconds.
   4. Release the power button.
   5. Attach the computers power cable.
   6. Press the power button to turn on the computer.

While they didn't find my solution exactly, they all gave good general advice on how to troubleshoot.

thanks for the points. Would have given more if we had more info. As Strung said, interpreting those logs often doesn't work.
