How do I get core dumps on solaris ?

Similar to errpt -a command on AIX?

Use "gcore" in Solaris, see "man gcore" for details.

There is nothing like AIX' "errpt" in Solaris, afaik.

You could use "prtdiag" to get some hardware diagnostics,
and there is the Validation and Test Suite (VTS).

And there is of course "dmesg". Here is the manpage:
