I am a Sys Admin who wants to venture out and work for myself. Looking for projects that involves creating a server environment (file, web, print, backup, vpn, etc) for small to medium size businesses. Im looking to post my service out there on the web, but dont know of any good popular freelance sites out there. Can someone recommend me some good sites, or any links on how to become a successful consultant?

A consultant is a professional who provides professional or expert advice in a particular area such as security (electronic or physical), management, education, accountancy, law, human resources, marketing and public relations, finance, engineering, science or any of many other specialized fields.

Consulting

IT Administration is the processes and best practices for programming and development, and incorporates methodologies for managing activities and projects. Common methodologies include waterfall, prototyping, iterative and incremental development, spiral development, rapid application development, extreme programming and various types of agile methodology. The life-cycle "model" is a more general term for a category of methodologies, and a software development "process" a more specific term to refer to a specific process chosen by a specific organization.
