pst expanding problem

Lately I am having a lot of problem with different users pst file. It is getting to be a nightmare. Users can't expand pst file with outlook, get message that say pst file can't expand or access denied... I normally have them logout and login, it sometime fix. or remove pst file and re-added to data file and sometime fix. Is there a better way to handle  pst file?

thanks

Seven PST files isn't a problem.  And assuming that they are in unicode format, then the size isn't a problem either.  It sounds like there might be a problem with the user's profile.  As a test you might want to consider creating a new profile.  That cures an amazing number of Outlook problems.
