I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Hi.
You can check for messages using system request key.
The exact key sequence depends on the type of console. For an Operations Console, press shift-escape and a line appears along the bottom of the screen. Press enter to see the system request menu. Option 6 will display the qsysopr message queue. For an HMC, system request is under the Control menu.

You can also type the 6 directly on the line when it appears to go straight to qsysopr message queue. I mention the menu so that you can see what other options are available.

Hope this helps!
