Installing JFS on Amazon Linux AMI

Hello.

I am trying to recreate a setup on Amazon EC2 using their base AMI(ami-8c1fece5). It doesn't have JFS support included, I found this article:

https://forums.aws.amazon.com/message.jspa?messageID=196707

that says it has the kernal modules to support it.

However, when I do: sudo yum install jfsutils

I get:
Loaded plugins: fastestmirror, priorities, security
Loading mirror speeds from cached hostfile
Setting up Install Process
No package jfsutils available.
Error: Nothing to do

How do I enable JFS support in the Amazon Linux AMI?

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

EC2 have their own yum repository. try this to see if there is any package that suits you

 yum list | grep jfs

you can always point yum at another repository by altering /etc/yum.conf
