Visual Studio 2010 Remote debugging monitor

Hi

I have just installed the Visual Studio 2010 Remote debugging monitor as an application. The Window for this is shown below. I want to debug a website application of mine created in ASP.net 4 - not sure where to go from here!

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

In your visual studio, open the source code then:

1

Debug

2

Attach to Process

3

Transport: Remote

4

Qualifier: (IP of Web Server)

5

Select Web Server IIS worker process (w3wp.exe)

6

Attach

7

Put your checkpoints wherever you want

8

Access your web application normally from your browser, and your code will capture the checkpoints

You may try Tools --> Attach to Process. "Attach to Process" exists under both "Debug" and "Tools" menus.

Initially, disable the firewalls to isolate the problem. Also, make sure that the remote debugger is configured with no authentication at the server side.
