I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

With a new exchange 2010 install you need to make sure that the receive connector is set to allow anonymous connections.

In addition you need to have the MX record at your domain registrar point to your server's FQDN.

Also, how would I set a subdomain say exchange.mvyairport.com point to my OWA.

For that you need to have an A record at your domain registrar created for exchange.mvyairport.com point to your router and then forwarded to the server with OWA running.

This is an over simplification, if you need more specifics let me know.

Alright, thanks, i'll be transferring over from my old hosted email and hosted web server, to an onsite Exchange Server and onsite web server later this week, and it will be great to answer small questions like that. For the major configuration of the server we have contracted dell to do that as for the configuration of A records MX records and pointers im not sure if they do that.

I believe we will be using Godaddy to host our domain name.

Best to make the switchover after 5 on a Friday if possible. that gives you the weekend to work out any bugs.

Yes, I was planning to have dell set everything up Wensday and Thursday, another question, how do I point the subdomain to another server inside my network.. I have mvyairport.com pointing to my web server inside my network then I will need exchange.mvyairport.com to point to port 443 so I can access my OWA

Normally both point to your public IP at your registrar.
On your router port 80 will be forwarded to your web server and 443 to your OWA server.
