Server 2008 Winload.Exe

We have had a server problem since Friday, we restarted the server only to get the damned Winload.exe is corrupt or missing... easily enough to fix there is plenty info on the Web.

The problem is that when we boot to the Server OS DVD to select the repair option, we dont have the Server OS listed!!! ... have tried a multitude of SATA drivers from Intel and they say that native sata drivers are included in the OS!

The system is using an Intel Board S5500BC and BIOS picks up the drive fine.

Is there any other way to get the recovery console to detect the OS? or is there any other way to repair the error?

At wits end!

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

One option is to boot from a BART PE disk, then once booted, insert the OS disk and replace the file from the OS disk.
