I've requested that this question be deleted for the following reason:

-
No reason provided for the objection.
The answer has value for users that peruse E-E archives as well as this problem appears to be associated with Snow Leopard which supports the DC3535, but only when using the HP-Dorect Socket.
Not intuitive for a Xerox Printer.

I used this very solution only yesterday.
I don't need points, but to erase knowledge must serve a purpose (it is out of date or wrong), mustn't it?

The "HP-Jetdirect Socket" protocol selection to get Snow Leopard to use the existing DC3535 driver has been confirmed twice in our office to fix the pausing problem described.

Even if it didn't fix the problem in this user's circumstances, it is useful to those hunting the E-E archives. Furthermore, the originator of the question did not provide any feedback whether the solution was even tried, much less failed.

I don't need points, but I posted the solution to help the customer base and other frustrated DocuColor 3535 users with this easy (but not intuitive) solution.  I chose E-E for my post (rather than FixYa, TekTips, Bleeping Computer, etc.) because of its durability and removing working solutions without cause weakens E-E's value.

You can create a printer using CUPS that works with LPD. It will also allow you to share the printer with other users, so you can set up one computer in your network with a Hold and Print queue, and everyone can then browse to it using the Printers and Scanners System Settings panel. Pretty easy to do.
