Self-update is not working - Event ID: 13042
I recently resotred my SBS server, since then I started getting the following event -
Event Type: Error
Event Source: Windows Server Update Services
Event Category: Clients
Event ID: 13042
Date: 04/04/2011
Time: 12:54:00
User: N/A
Computer: BENCOMMS
Description:
Self-update is not working.
For more information, see Help and Support Center at http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp.
I am running WSUS 3.0 SP2. I am not sure what the message means but it does not seem to stop my client updates from working (possibly apart from my server).
I have spent all morning troubleshooting it and trying various fixes, such as -
Checked Anonymous Access is ticked
Ran cscript <WSUSInstallDir>\setup\Ins tallSelfup dateOnPort 80.vbs
Any answers would be much appreciated.

OK, I have gone through all articles and nothing has helped me. Just now I noticed that I have two SelfUpdate directories - one under Default Website and the other under WSUS Administration. They are both set up identically however the one under DW cannot be browsed and the one under WSUS can be browsed. One article said I this directory must be set up on port 80, I am not sure how I specify port numbers on virtual directories.
Another rather annoying thing is that if I browse any folder under DW, I am constantly prompted for username and password (domain\administrator) but it fails to browse after entering credentials.
A further note that might be worth mentioning is that neither certificate services nor Microsoft Server active-sync are working.
