Wireless Security on a Cisco Aironet 1200 AP

I have a Cisco Aironet 1200 that's a few years oldnow. It currently only supports WEP and WPA. I am trying to find out if I upgraded the software on it, if the latest version of software that is out can support a newer security protocol. I have tried contacting Cisco technical support but am not getting anywhere. If anyone is familiar with this AP and has upgraded firmware on it, could you please let me know?

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

What protocol are you trying to support? The latest thing that I am aware of is WPA version 2, which is WPA using AES instead of TKIP. I am using that under c1130-k9w7-mx.124-3g.JA1, which is several years old. There is a slight security benefit of WPA version 2 over WPA, but not much as long as you are not using a short pre-shared key. The original WPA with TKIP is still considered secure.
