Can I install SQL Express 2008 R2 along with SQL 2000

Hello Experts,
I know very little about SQL,  due to a PCI req. I need to install SQL EXPRESS 2008 R2 in a server that already has SQL 2000 installed. I need these two SQL running in the server. I don't know if this could be possible.

The server is Microsoft Server 2003 Standard, 2.8 Ghz  and 1 GB RAM. Free space 47.4 GB.

I would like to know if having these two SQL versions running is possible and what considerations should I have in mind to install SQL Express 2008 R2.
I am reading this doc http://blogs.msdn.com/b/petersad/archive/2009/11/13/how-to-install-sql-server-2008-r2-express-edition-november-ctp.aspx

Thanks a lot.

It is possible to have both of them running on one workstation so long as it certifies all the prerequisites for 2008R2

You will install it with a different Instance name but it should not be a problem

Thanks ewangoya for your answer,
I have a question though:
..."It is possible to have both of them running on one workstation so long as it certifies all the prerequisites for 2008R2".....

I am planning to install 2008R2 express in the server not workstation it might work?

Please bear in mind that multiple instances will compete for resources. SQL Server 2008 R2 Express x64 bit will use no more than 1GB of RAM for SQL engine and no more than 4GB for Reporting Services.
