Sticking Group Policy on Windows 7 worksation

I have a laptop on my network in the domain
Running windows 7

I had a PCI compliant Group Policy setup that forced the screen saver to pop up after 15min no activity and request logon when user returned. Set up policy on 2003AD

That user needs to go out and run a continuous slide show on his laptop and there will be long periods of inactivity. The screen saver had to go.

So, in active directory I moved his laptop and account to an OU that didn’t have a GP and no inheritance.

Ran gpupdate /force as admin on the laptop it indicated it had applied the "new" policies
then I rebooted.

Laptop came backup but the screen saver is still blocked

any other know ways to force the GP to release a device?
