Fill in Data

Experts,

I have this excel spreadsheet that I have to update manually.
I am looking to increase my efficiency.

In the attached.  I would need something to fill in the data according to the column to the left.
I am looking for a button to push and all the data fills in.

Let me know if you need any additional information.

thank you. fillin.xls

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

I've attached a working example using the macro provided below. Just select the rows that you want to fill down and click the button.

Sub FillCol()
For i = 1 To Selection.Cells.Count - 1
j = i + 1
If Selection.Cells(j, 1).Value = "" Then
   Selection.Cells(j, 1).Value = Selection.Cells(i, 1).Value
End If
Next i
End Sub

Sub FillCol()
For i = 1 To Selection.Cells.Count - 1
j = i + 1
If Selection.Cells(j, 1).Value = "" Then
   Selection.Cells(j, 1).Value = Selection.Cells(i, 1).Value
End If
Next i
End Sub

Put this into a module instead of a workbook.

maybe a button would not be what I need then.
Maybe I just select then run a macro?

OK I made a Module but the module seems to be only available if I have the excel file open.  I need it to be available in each excel file I open.  do you know how can I do that?
