Default Tray for Printing

I have a Web Application that opens a PDF document in an IE window showing an envelope and address, I always have to change the settings in the printer properties to select the envelope tray othewise it will print it on plain paper.
How do I make sure that the evelope tray is defaulted when printing an envelope?
The printer is shared on a windows 2008 server.
Thanks.

The application is PDF through an IE windows, which means the application is effectively IE, therefore I would be setting he defauly printer for IE as an envelope tray, correct??

I'm not sure you would want your default printer to be the 'envelope' printer, but rather you'd like to have all of the printer's 'envelope' settings already chosen.  That way you can just select the printer and print, instead of having to change the settings every time before printing.  Is this correct?

The way to do this would be, as elmagoal has suggested, to create an additional printer share on your server, or you could just create the additional share for your user account on the machine your launching the app from.  Once the additional share is created, you can set all the defaults up underneath the 'Printer's Properties' window > Advanced > Printing Defaults.

If there are any settings that need to be set up underneath the 'Printer's Properties' window > General tab > Preferences, then just remember these are user specific settings stored in the below keys.  The only reason I mention this is because you can script this if you need to change this for a long list of users.

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Printers\DevModePerUser
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Printers\DevModes2

If I create an additional printer for just envelopes, then I would have to select that printer everytime I want to print the PDF IE window, correct?   ( I dont think I can have a default printer for just that PDF IE Window because it would become the default for all IE printing.)

Exactly, the best solution for this scenario is to have the additional printer customized as you need it.  At least most of the hassle is taken care of, and you still have your 'default' printer set appropriately for all other printing through IE, etc.
