Is there an onboard OCR on an iPhone?

I expect to use RhoMobile to develop once and deploy on iPhone, Andriod and others. This uses the web server on the phone and allows me to code as if I were coding to a browser. (do I understand this correctly?)

I have read that RhoMobile none-the-less gives me access to equipment on the phones, like the camera, GPS, as if the aplication were running natively on the phone. My question involves ORC.

I have been told that I can access an interface on the phone:

http://www.expervision.com/ocr-sdk-toolkit/ocr-sdk-for-embedded-mobile-system

But I do not understand if this interface will then give my application OCR capability?

Is OCR part of the iPhone OS?  Android OS? Then does this interface give me access to that feature?

I just need OCR for my aplication and want to understand what additional module I need to install in order to have OCR.

Thanks,

I only know OCR is NOT part of the iPhone, so you would need to either license or find a freeware one or build one as part of your program ...

Do you know of any open source OCR program?

I think licensing would kill my ability to sell this for $0.99 :)

How about the Andriod?

You could try to make use of one of the free online OCRs:
