Iphone in restore mode, using XP

Hiya all

I have an iphone that is in recovery mode. I have a XP laptop that has Itunes on it, but when i plug in the phone to the machine, the driver install popup appears and the auto install fails inside Device manager i see the device in the "Other devices" area named as "Apple mobile device (recovery mode)".

any idea how to gett this sorted so i can recover the iphone in itunes.

My best guess here is that the phone has a newer OS on it than your version of iTunes can identify.

Download the latest version of iTunes, reinstall, reboot your computer and, if you can, plug the phone into a different USB port if you've got one you can use.
