some additional information about PDMS and/or CATIA would be appreciated.

both are CAD software like autocad or something like that.

PDMS and CATIA are software very specialized usually used for industries like ford, petrobras, etc....
well without knowing the complete details about the software your best bet is to see what formats you are able to export the PDMS file into, then compare that listing to the import function within the CATIA software

generally speaking, most, if not all, CAD software support the ability to export and import a XML type of data file. I would first check to see if you can export/import that format within both programs.
You could also try 3rd party software that will translate the data from one format to the other, here is an example:
