Access Query: Finding match in another table

I have 2 tables See below...

table1: Columns: "FirstName", "LastName", "First_Match", "Last_Match"
table2: Columns: "FirstName", "LastName"

both tables have over 100,000 records in them.

I would like a query that will enter "Match" in table1 (In the "First_Match" column) if the "FirstName" exists in table2.

I would also like the query to enter 'Match in table1 (In the "Last_Match" column) if the "LastName" exists in table2.

how would I do this? (It's been a long time since I used Access 97)

I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

These two queries should do what you're after:

    UPDATE table1, table2
    SET table1.First_Match = "Match"
    WHERE table2.FirstName = table1.FirstName

    UPDATE table1, table2
    SET table1.Last_Match = "Match"
    WHERE table2.LastName = table1.LastName
