How to implement autofilter functionality of Access/Excel on each field in .Net ?

I want to select the parameters for my report. In order to get the parameters--the requirement is
to do it exactly as the user do selection of criteria in Excel or Access(filter capability in header only). I started with buttons on a form and with each button click show another popup form with checkbox list options to choose from..But with this, multiple form instances are showing up..

Other way can be to show Excel with same data on form in webbroser control but then how to get the values selected in the filter...
Please suggest some solution...or similar code link.

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Please supply the code u use to call the filter forms.

You should be calling them dialog style which means that you need to close the form before continueing and will thus solve the multiple instance issue.
