I need a multiple page scanner that is fast accurate and good and small

Ok I am in the medical field, So here is what I need. I need a scanner that can scan multiple pages, I hast to be smaller in size as it will be connected to workstations at someones desk. If it has netowrk functionality that would be good as well.
It also has to be error free. I mean that too. I want it to work every time all the time.

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

We use a Kodak Imagemate i1120 Scanneer which works great.
I don't know if this is an issue or not but it is paper only.  So no License scans which is common in med field.

For business cards the best solution is the Docketport 667 usb powered scanner. You can find it on www.ocrsolutions.com. If you are looking for a lower cost adf scanner that can do business cards as well Avision has come out with the AV50 which is reasonably priced around $399.00.

No I need a fast, reliable scanner that can do it all.
1) it needs to have an ADF
2) it needs to be able to do 50 pages at a time
3) it needs to do both pages and buss cards and licences
4) fast and never jamming and easy to clean

Then I suggest either the Fujisu 6130 or 6230 scanner based on your budget and needs. They are work horses and build very well. All distributors carry them information can be found on our website as well.

So you are looking for a network scanner? Are you scanning into terminal server as well? Do you need a virtual scanning solution as well? I would need some more detail as to what you are trying to achieve, your architecture and the software solution you need it to scan into etc.

What is virtual scanning, And I will have a file server that has 12 folders in it representing the monthes of a year and in each of those the corsponding days of the week folders. Now I will need the scanner to scan to any folder on the file server that I choose

Got it, so you need a simple program to choose which network folder to scan to. Virtual scanning is scanning from a computer over RDP directly into a hosted application on terminal server. It sounds like the Fujitsu 6130 is still a good solution and we have had very good results with the Kodak i1210 as well.
