Servers in WSUS environment not installing .NET Windows update

We work with a mixed VM - fat client environment and all our VMs are W2K3 server boxes. The fat clients are Windows XP. Windows update are applied to them via WSUS.

3 WSUS updates for .NET framework are not installing on ALL the W2K3 boxes. These updates are KB983583, KB2418241 and KB979909. All other updates are installing fine. And the XP machines are not having any issues installing these updates. Its been more than a month that these updates are sitting there.

I tried to manually click the yellow baloon and install them. They install OK but the baloon re-appears saying downolading and then waiting installation of these updates. I then tried installing the updates one by one, no help.

I checked the windows update log file but its un-conclusive. I have attached a portion of the file which relates to me manually trying to install one of them.
