Bringing a Windows Server 2008R2 into a 2003 Domain and upgrading it to DC

I am trying to find the exact steps to installing a 2008r2 server into a 2003 domain and then upgrading the 2008r2 server to my domains DC. Also, will upgrading the Dc to 2008r2 affect other dc's on the network in different locations still running 2003.

Any Help would be greatly appreciated.

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Someone has asked the question before, just not for R2.
