I have a dell2500 with raid 1 drives. one drive failed and when replacing and initializing the new drive the container disapeared. when I tried to create a new container using the remiaining drive I noticed that it was physicaly larger than the new drive I wanted to use.
the size of the volume in the deleted container was 36 g and the driive is actually 146.
So I created the container as a volume of 36 g using the remaining good drive. My question is., did creating a new container using the remaining good drive from the raid 1 container harm the data? Now the system tells me that there is no boot drive.
Can I put that drive as a volume in another machine and recover the data?
