The code is VBA.
What file name do you want to store?
Do you want a dialog box to open, and you pick a file and have its name stored?

Can you give more detail about what you want to do?

Use this macro to query for a file name and put the path into cell A1 of Sheet1:

Public Sub GetFileName()

   Dim File As Variant

   File = Application.GetOpenFilename("Text Files (*.txt),*.txt", Title:="Select File")
   If VarType(File) = vbBoolean Then Exit Sub
   Sheet1.[A1] = File

End Sub
