"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

It wont always be 00101, if it was 0101, i need it to say 0101

So i need excel not to take away zeros, no matter how many are there

Thanks

In that case, start the data entry with a ' sign. The data will be stored as text, not numbers, but the zeros will stay as you enter them.

You could format it as TEXT instead.

But that might affect your formulas, give it a try and report back.
