Need to remove virus from computer

I have an infected computer and I need to run an anti-virus scanner on the machine to clean it out. I have been using MalwareBytes for years now and I am wondering if this program is still good or if someone knows a of a better program to run scans with.

cmartineau,
You might want to hold off on closing out question to give others a chance for some input.

Malwarebytes is (IMO) the best generic malware fighter available, but you need to stop the "rogue processes" for it to do its job.

You also need to do a clean download of the setup file - renaming it before it touches the infected computer.

I wrote the EE Articles below to provide detailed instructions for the proper use.

Ok will do, thank you for your input I will check out the articles.
