SQL 2000 and SQL 2005 On The Same Server?

I have a Windows 2008 Server (64 bit) with SQL 2005 SP4 running on it.
I have a database that cannot run on a SQL 2005 server, but can on a SQL 2000 server.
My question is:
Can I load both SQL versions together on the same server without each of them conflicting with one another?

Thanks,
J.Jensen

you can normally restore your 2000 database on SQL 2005 and keep the compatibility level to 2000.

The database creator is telling me that it is not possible to run the database in the lower compatibility mode and have it operate properly.
So, I guess I am back to my original question: can I run both on the same server?

Yes you can. One will be installed as a shared instance. You will have to give it a name when you install it. To access it, you will have to use the servername\instancename to connect.

Thanks emoreau for the advice I will try it out.
Not to complicate this, but the server that I need to run the SQL2000 on is a Windows 2008 server x64.
Are there any precautions I should be aware of?
